Our Children’s Faith Formation program is designed to help children grow in faith, identity, and understanding of the Catholic Church. Children's Faith Formation (CFF) is a wonderful opportunity for children and parents alike to experience the presence of God in their lives and come to a new and deeper understanding of our church community. Working as a family, we hope to help children grow in faith and familiarize themselves with the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church by translating them into developmentally appropriate, interactive lessons. Come learn, pray, and grow with your Saint Agnes family!
Sessions are held on designated Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:15 AM for children in grades K-8.
Classes usually begin in late September and end in early May.
Please contact Sister Teresa Malave, VDMF, for more information.
CFF for Kindergarten-1st grade:
These are generally Kindergarteners and 1st Graders who have not completed 1st Communion. These children are also invited to participate in our Children’s Liturgy of the Word at 10:30 AM Mass on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month.
1st Reconciliation /Communion:
Generally, includes children ages 8-10. Children usually start in 2nd grade, and we welcome children up to 4th grade. It is important to note that at least one parent or guardian must attend with children enrolled as the sessions are a family catechesis.
CFF after First Communion:
These are sessions that are a continuation of faith formation after completion of sacraments of 1st Reconciliation and 1st Communion for grades 3-4; The aim is to ground children in a living faith and gospel values with service project opportunities.
CFF 5th-6th grade:
A continuation of CFF with the desire to continue nurturing a life of faith and action as they journey toward Confirmation.
Confirmation Year 1 and 2:
Includes youth from 7th- 8th grade.
The sacrament of First Holy Communion is the time when children receive the Eucharist, the source and summit of our faith for the very first time in life. But first, we prepare for Reconciliation where we learn more about growing close to Jesus, God's ever-present love and forgiveness. Our program of preparation welcomes the whole family to become a part of the process. With the help of our catechists, parents are guided through a beautiful bonding experience with their child learning about their Catholic Faith. As such, there needs to be a consistent adult who can support the child's faith journey to participate in this program.
Children in 2nd Grade ordinarily sign up for First Reconciliation and First Communion, but children up to 4th grade are welcome to join if they have not completed the Sacrament.
The formation for this program lasts an entire school year (September-May) with sessions 2-3 times per month on designated Sundays from 9:15-10:15 AM. Please visit our registration page to register for the 2023-2024 year.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is a crucial step in the faith journey of a young person. Our program is geared toward 7th and 8th graders, but high school-age youth are welcome. This program blends religious education, faith sharing, community service, and spiritual development in a way that is personal and fosters strong ties between the Confirmation candidates.
The formation for Confirmation involves a two-year program with sessions 2-3 times per month on Sundays from 9:15-10:15 AM (September-May).
